Meet Chef Duane Copeland
Chef Duane Copeland was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina and completed his culinary degree at Johnson & Wales. Duane spent the last 20+ years honing his craft as a baker and chef in the D.C. Area and California. Before coming to Lowcountry Fresh he was the Pastry Chef at the Michelin starred restaurant Xiquet where he developed his skills with rice, the foundational ingredient that connects the Lowcountry to West African foodways. Chef has brought this craft to the seasonal produce and traditional grains available in Beaufort County, creating a menu that was voted the Lowcountry’s Best in five categories by Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette readers in 2022.
